Anavila Registers Third Success

Kia Ora Stud’s colours were carried to victory by Anavila (5g Anabaa ( USA)-Highest Cool (Fr), by Highest Honor) at the Australian Jockey Club’s meeting at Newcastle on 26 August.

It was the consistent gelding’s third win. He is trained at Rosehill by Chris Waller.

Born with a sway back, Anavila was not offered for sale but his deformity has little  bearing on his racing ability – he has been placed on a further 10 occasions.

Anavila is the third metropolitan winner amongst Highest Cool’s first four foals.   The others are the ill-fated Frazzle Dazzle (by Singspiel (Ire)) and the Group-placed Rock Me Baby (by Rock Of Gibraltar (Ire)), a three-year-old of the current season.

Highest Cool (Fr) was a stakes-placed winner in Paris and comes from the distinguished family of It’s In The Air and Balanchine.   She has a 2YO colt by Rock Of Gibraltar (Ire), sold in Sydney last Easter for $180,000, and a yearling filly by Galileo (Ire).   She will visit Rock Of Gibraltar (Ire) in 2008.

Other recent winners from the Kia Ora racing team have been Darmita (4h Danehill Dancer (Ire)-Mambo In Freeport (USA), by Kingmambo, and Charmini (4m Choisir-Minegold, by Geiger Counter (USA).
